Analisis Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tarumajaya Bekasi pada Materi Kalor Jenis melalui Model Problem Based Learning

Penelitian ini mengkaji kemampuan siswa kelas VII dalam menyelesaikan masalah kalor jenis setelah pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada cara siswa memahami informasi soal, memilih strategi, melakukan perhitungan, menggunakan satuan, dan meninjau kembali jawaban berdasarkan tahapan Polya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif pada satu kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tarumajaya Bekasi yang terdiri atas 34 siswa dan satu guru IPA. Pemilihan kelas dan informan wawancara dilakukan secara purposive dengan mempertimbangkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, rekomendasi guru, serta keterwakilan kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Data diperoleh melalui observasi pembelajaran, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dokumentasi, dan analisis hasil kerja siswa. Analisis dilakukan dengan mengorganisasi data, membaca ulang, mengode temuan sesuai indikator Polya, menyajikan data, lalu menarik kesimpulan melalui verifikasi. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa 8 siswa termasuk kategori mampu, 19 siswa kategori cukup, dan 7 siswa kategori kurang. Sebagian siswa dapat mengenali informasi soal dan menentukan rumus, tetapi masih mengalami kesulitan pada penentuan perubahan suhu, ketelitian hitung, penulisan satuan, dan pemeriksaan jawaban. PBL memberi ruang diskusi dan penyusunan strategi, namun pendampingan guru tetap diperlukan agar siswa lebih konsisten mengikuti langkah pemecahan masalah.
